This Observatory Park kitchen remodel was the second phase of a much larger remodel. Initially we tried to define the style of the original kitchen, but what style combines stainless steel backsplashes with galaxy black countertops with plastic imitation wood cabinets with diamond plate accents and some unfinished plywood cubbies thrown in? We finally decided to just call it “a train wreck” and got started designing a new kitchen.
Our design goals for this project were:
Design suited for a Renaissance Revival House.
Use real wood and color to “warm it up”.
Design an island that had the feel of an “old world furniture piece”.
